NEW DELHI: Legendary fast bowler Dale Steyn grabbed attention with a light-hearted yet bittersweet moment during the World Legends Pro T20 League.

During the match between Maharashtra Tycoons and Delhi Warriors, the 42-year-old Steyn produced a classic delivery that trapped the batter right in front of the stumps. As the umpire raised his finger, Steyn had his wicket, and then came a celebration no one expected.

Instead of the usual sprint or roar, Steyn pulled out a stump and began using it as a walking stick. He slowly limped forward, acting like an old man needing support, drawing loud laughter and smiles from players on both sides.

Teammates and opponents couldn’t stop laughing as Steyn played along, clearly poking fun at the fact that this was a game of legends, many of whom have long retired from top-level cricket.

The gesture was a playful reminder that time has passed, bodies aren’t the same, but the love for the game remains unchanged.

A legacy to remember

Steyn remains one of the finest fast bowlers the game has ever seen, finishing his career with 439 Test wickets and 196 ODI scalps.

His fiery spells, raw pace, and relentless aggression are memories that will live on for generations. Even years after retirement, Dale Steyn still knows how to steal the show.
