GT Preview
After suffering a huge 99-run defeat against Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans failed to defend 205 runs against RCB in the last game. With two back-to-back defeats, they have slipped to 7th position in the points table.
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan are doing well at the top, but the former's traditional approach in the poweplay is not helping the team. Jos Buttler and Washington Sundar are also in good form, but the lower middle order is struggling again.
With the ball, Kagiso Rabada is back to his best this season and is making impact with the new ball. Prasidh Krishan is doing wonders with the old ball and is in contention for the Purple Cap again. Rashidh Khan and Mohhamed Siraj have failed to show consistency so far with just 15 wickets combined.
CSK Preview
Chennai Super Kings finally recorded a convincing win in their last game, rising to 5th in the points table. CSK defeats their rivals Mumbai Indians by a record-breaking 103 runs at Wankhede Stadium to regain a much-needed morale boost. With three wins and four defeats, the five-time champions will look to make a strong comeback in the second half of the season.
Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad's form is a big worry at the top. He is yet to score a big innings this season, but showed a glimpse of an aggressive approach in the last match against MI. Shivam Dube and Sarfaraz Khan are also struggling in the middle and need to step up today if they want to beat the Titans.
With the bowl, Akeal Hosein won the last game for CSK and is likely to make a big impact at Chepauk today. Anshul Kamboj is leading the Purple Cap race, but the fast bowling is looking unstable after injuries to Nathan Ellis and Khaleel Ahmed.
Will MS Dhoni play today?
Can't say.
MS Dhoni is declared almost fit by CSK's coaching staff, but might sit out another game. He is batting at full tilt in the nets, but is still recovering from a calf injury. He might comes in as an impact player today, but the management is unlikly to take a risk on his injury after winning the last game.
