Chennai Super Kings have finally broken their shackles in IPL 2026 with a win after three consecutive defeats, and also ended a poor run of six straight losses at Chepauk. A much-needed turnaround that will boost their confidence going forward.

It was a complete team effort, led by the brilliance of Sanju Samson with the bat, while Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj delivered key breakthroughs with the ball.

CSK will now look to carry this momentum into the upcoming fixtures after a dominant all-round performance.

It was full and just outside off, he got forward to clear the infield but the bat turned on impact and he ended up spooning it to cover where Noor Ahmad took a safe catch.

It was full on leg stump and he backed away looking to hit leg side, but ended up slicing it high to extra cover where Akeal Hosein took a brilliant running catch, stretching back and holding on despite the awkward fall.

DC slip further as CSK edge closer to sealing control of this chase.

OUT! Noor Ahmad gets his first wicket of the season as Ashutosh Sharma goes for the big shot and pays the price. It was tossed up wide outside off and Ashutosh tried to loft it over the off side but ended up slicing it straight to sweeper cover where a safe catch was taken.

OUT! David Miller is beaten for pace as Jamie Overton strikes again. It was a full, pacy cross-seam delivery at middle and leg and Miller tried to work it away from outside the leg stump but was completely beaten for speed as the ball crashed into the stumps.

A huge wicket in the context of the chase as DC lose a set batter at a crucial stage.

SIX! David Miller stays composed under pressure and goes big when it matters. It was dragged down on off stump and he quickly rocked back to muscle the pull shot way over deep mid-wicket for a clean maximum. A strong response as DC try to stay in the chase.

A big wicket at a crucial moment as CSK tighten their grip on the game.

OUT! Axar Patel departs just after the powerplay with a poor shot. It was a short ball outside off and he went hard on the cut but failed to keep it down, sending it straight to backward point. A sensational catch from Sarfaraz Khan as he ran across, dived full stretch and held on cleanly despite the pace of the ball.

BACK-TO-BACK WICKETS! Pathum Nissanka falls just after being dropped earlier and this time he throws it away with a loose shot. It was a full delivery angling in and he went for a lazy drive without any footwork, ending up chipping it straight to mid-on where the catch was safely taken.

OUT! KL Rahul goes after a short ball but pays the price as he mistimes the pull completely. The ball takes the higher part of the bat and goes straight to midwicket where Overton takes a safe catch. Khaleel Ahmed gets his first wicket of the IPL and CSK finally break this opening stand.

SIX AND FOUR! Pathum Nissanka continues his aggressive approach with a clean six followed by a crisp boundary in the same over. He is looking in excellent touch while KL Rahul is also keeping the scoreboard moving nicely.
