AUS vs WI head to head in ODI International Cricket!

Australia played the first ODI match against the West Indies on June 14, 1975. Along with AUS, WI was also a strong team in the 1980s. In that era, world cricket saw many iconic matches between the two teams. At present, the Caribbean team is not as strong as the Aussies. Over the years, both teams featured in many ODI series, the ICC Champions Trophy, and the ICC Cricket World Cup. As of February 14, 2026, Aussies are in 3rd place, and the Caribbean Team is in 9th spot in the ICC ODI ranking. 

In the history of limited-overs cricket, many legendary players, including Ricky Ponting, Mike Hussey, Glenn McGrath, and Brett Lee, have impressed with stunning performances for Australia. On the other hand, Brian Lara, Michael Holding, Sunil Narine, and Dwayne Bravo gave very good performances for WI.

WI met AUS in a 5-match ODI series in February 2013. AUS wrapped up the series with a clean sweep, winning 5-0.  It's a phenomenal performance by the Aussies. Mitchell Starc delivered a power-packed performance with the ball, taking 11 wickets in 3 games, and was named player of the match.

AUS vs WI 1975 World CUP Final, June 21, London

AUS played the 1975 World Cup Final vs West Indies at Lord's. WI batted first and scored 291/8. In reply, Australia bowled out for 274 in 58.4 overs. WI won the World Cup by 17 runs. Clive Lloyd was the player of the match for his 102 off 85 balls. 

WI vs AUS ICC ODI World Cup, Nottingham, 2019, June 6, 2019

AUS competed against WI in the ICC ODI World Cup 2019. AUS batted first and made 288. In reply, WI fell short by 15 runs after scoring 273/9. Nathan Coulter-Nile scored 92 off 60 balls and was named player of the match.
