NEW DELHI: Australia national cricket team will tour South Africa in September and October for a three-match Test series, preceded by three One-Day Internationals.

The Tests will mark the first red-ball meeting between the sides since South Africa defeated Australia in the ICC World Test Championship Final at Lord's Cricket Ground last June. That triumph ended a 37-year wait for a major global cricket title for the Proteas.

Cricket Australia confirmed on Tuesday that the ODI leg will begin on September 24 in Durban, followed by matches on September 27 in Johannesburg and a day-night fixture in Potchefstroom on September 30.
