A big shift has taken place in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings as two young stars, Amelia Kerr and Georgia Voll, have climbed to the No.1 spots in all round and batting categories.

With the ICC Women's T20 World Cup not too far away, these changes have come at a crucial time.

Georgia Voll rises to the top

Australia’s rising opener Georgia Voll has taken over the No.1 position in T20I batting rankings, going past her own teammate Beth Mooney. This came after a stunning knock in the final T20I against the West Indies where she smashed 101 off just 53 balls.

It was not just about the runs, it was the way she dominated. At just 22 years and 230 days, Voll also became one of the youngest players to score a century in both white ball formats. Her performance helped her jump eight places in the rankings and finally take the top spot, ending Mooney’s long hold since early 2024.

Amelia Kerr’s all round dominance

New Zealand skipper Amelia Kerr has been equally impressive. She moved to No.1 in the T20I all rounder rankings after a brilliant series against South Africa at home.

Kerr scored 276 runs and picked up five wickets in that five match series, showing her impact in both departments. This performance helped her go past Hayley Matthews, who had been holding the top spot for quite some time.

She also made gains in the bowling rankings, moving up to 10th, which shows how complete her performances have been lately.

Other key movements in rankings

There were some other changes as well across formats. In T20I bowling, Sadia Iqbal continues to hold the No.1 spot.

In ODI cricket, Sophie Ecclestone has returned to the top of the bowling rankings, moving ahead of Alana King. King slipped after a few quiet games against West Indies.

Among batters, Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield made a small jump into the top five, while New Zealand’s Maddy Green also gained a few spots.

India’s position in T20I rankings

From an Indian point of view, Smriti Mandhana slipped one place but continues to hold the No.3 spot in the T20I batting rankings. She remains one of the most consistent performers at the top.

Meanwhile Deepti Sharma holds the second spot in the T20I all rounder rankings, underlining her importance to the side with both bat and ball.
