Last Monday on RAW, Jey Uso shocked the entire world when he dropped the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther. Nowadays, most of the title reigns last for a long time, especially the World titles, and the fact that Jey held the title in only 52 days has shocked the majority of wrestling fans.

His fans are extremely unhappy with this decision to take the title away from him in such a short time period. Much like the rest of the World title reigns of the modern era, they expected Jey to keep it for a long time. His fans feared that WWE had decided to withdraw his main event push.

Why Jey Uso dropped the title to Gunther

On the other hand, large number of WWE fans who does not like Jey are quite happy with this decision as they have come into the conclusion that WWE creative team may have finally understood that he is not worthy of this main event push, and that might have led to the decision of taking the title away from him.

Then what might be the actual reason behind such a shocking decision? A rumour has started to float that WWE might be considering crowning Jey Uso as the King of the Ring 2025. 15 of the 16 participants of the tournament have already been decided, one spot is vacant, and it is going to be a mystery participant.

Presently, there are rumours that Jey is going to be this mystery participant, and you will also go on to win the King of the Ring tournament. This had been the reason for taking the title away from him just before the event where the final of the tournament will take place.

If this actually happens, this would be a terrible decision. The purpose of King of the Ring is to promote the next big star. Last year, we had already seen that Triple H had changed the purpose of the tournament when she crowned Nia Jax as Queen of the Ring. We hope he does not repeat the same mistake this year either.
