Ever since the World Heavyweight Championship was introduced back in 2023, it has only been seen as an afterthought beside the Undisputed WWE Championship. The fans have complained about the weak booking of the mentioned title, but the situation of the title never really improved despite the involvement of big names like Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins.
The Undisputed WWE Championship was presented as the biggest prize of WWE despite the presence of the World Heavyweight Championship. A large number of fans believed that giving the title to Jey Uso earlier this year was a let-down for the title, and the fans started to assume that WWE officials are pretty this Championship only as a secondary World title to the Undisputed title.

But recently, at SummerSlam, the ultimate prestige has finally been stored in the title with an excellent match and an amazing climax. Gunther defended the World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk, and after an amazing hard fought match, Punk finally won the world title, which turned out to be the first WWE World title in 12 long years.

But his happiness was short lived as Seth Rollins shocked the world by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship away from him. After Rollins became the champion, it finally looks like the ultimate prize, the way it has been booked so far. Speaking on the “Busted Open After Dark” podcast, wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer explained how the title finally looks like the main thing of WWE. He said;

“My favorite part of all of this is Seth, before he got ‘hurt,’ he was feuding with like eight people. When you become the champion, you become the marked man. Right now, we have CM Punk, Roman Reigns, let’s not forget about Jey Uso because he’s a major player in this as well, and LA Knight, he has stock in this. We always say, listen to the crowd. The moment his [Knight’s] music hit, the people are like, holy crap we have something here. Same with Jey. Roman’s music is next level. You just don’t know where they’re going.”
Presently, multiple wrestlers are fighting for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, as CM Punk is already a Contender with Jey Uso also a part of it since he never got the rematch after dropping the title. LA Knight is also a part of it since he defeated Rollins at Saturday Night's Main Event. At the Clash at Paris PLE event, Seth Rollins will defend the title against all three mentioned names.
