Professional wrestling veteran Goldberg recently announced his retirement after his defeat at the hands of the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at the latest Saturday Night's Main Event. He already announced before the event that it would be his final match.
Goldberg made his in ring debut back in 1997, and he worked in WCW during his early days. He remained active in WCW until the promotion remained alive. After the death of WCW in 2001 he remained out of action for a couple of years. In 2003, he made his WWE debut and had a solid 1 year WWE career.

But after WrestleMania XX, he remained out of action for more than 12 long years, and finally at Survivor Series 2016, he returned to WWE to have a part time career. Despite getting much criticism, he has had a very successful Run since 2016, as he even won the World Championship two times.

After he announced his retirement at Saturday Night's Main Event, he delivered an emotional retirement speech. But it received some criticism from a number of fans. His long time co worker Kevin Nash stood by his side and slammed his critics. While speaking on his Kliq This Podcast, he said:

Gunther was the final opponent of Goldberg’s wrestling career
“It’s always these motherf—ers, man, that have never been in the ring, have never done anything in their life except comment on wrestling,” Nash began. “They’re saying, like, ‘Well, Bill, you know, if I would have had that send-off, I would have been happy with just that.’ How do you know? You never even had a f—ing match. How do you know, after f—ing all these years, that that send-off would appease you, dude? You’re just f—ing happy jacking off talking about this sh–, like, shut the f— up. You’re nobody.

“Bill didn’t wake up one morning at 12 years old and go, ‘I want to be a pro wrestler.’ Bill tore his groin off the bone, playing for the Rams, and said, ‘What am I going to do now? How about wrestling?’ To me, I thought he did a really solid job. Kudos to Gunther, because Gunther kept him close. You could tell… they were working their way through things.” concluded the retired professional wrestler.
