Triple H brought back the Classic Saturday Night's Main Event show last year in December, and he has started to organise it regularly. The event is taking place every now and then, and it has already been booked five times since last December. Despite being a small PLE, it still got over 10000 audiences in attendance every time.

But is this event really necessary to book at this stage? When Saturday Night's Main Event was first introduced back in 1985, there was no concept of pay per view, premium live event, or any kind of monthly special event. Professional wrestling did not reach every household through television. So it was a great concept to get some special matches through this irregular special event.

Why Saturday Night's Main Event is not relevant anymore

But after special events got normalised in the early 90s, Vince McMahon decided to stop Saturday Night's Main Event, and slowly replaced it with regular pay per view events. McMahon tried to bring back the SNME series regularly in 2006, but after a couple of years, he understood that this event did not serve any purpose, and he stopped it.

Triple H brought back Saturday Night's Main Event in December 2024

But for some reason, Triple H brought back the SNME event regularly, but the question stands, what is the point of bringing it back rather than serving the old school fans with some nostalgia? Nowadays, PLEs are organised regularly, so Saturday Night's Main Event seems absolutely pointless to organise on a regular basis.

The event originally started back in 1985

It would be better if Triple H brings back brand specific premium live events rather than booking the useless SNME regularly. Presently, WWE has 11 championships in the main roster, including both men's and women's titles. But Triple H only books five matches in normal premium live events. Most of the titles are not getting enough screen time, and there is no time to build younger wrestlers, either.

If WWE brings back the brand specific events by cancelling SNME, they will get more time to book all the championships, which will also help build the mid card division in a better way. Triple H has a lot of plans, and he wants to do a lot of things; the only thing that lacks is proper vision. One of the ideas that is shared here would definitely help the promotion in the long term.
