WrestleMania 22 is often considered one of the best WrestleMania events ever, and it registered some of the greatest matches in the history of this iconic event. It featured 12 matches in total with both World titles on the line. One of the most important matches of this show was the World Heavyweight Championship match.
Kurt Angle defended the title in a triple threat match against Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio. It had been one of the most important matches of WrestleMania history as the biggest underdog story finally met a fairy tale ending. Rey Mysterio won the Royal Rumble match to earn the opportunity to challenge for a desired world title.

Randy Orton also got the opportunity to challenge for the title. At the end of this match, Rey Mysterio shocked the entire world by winning the World Heavyweight Championship. It was the first time a wrestler of his size became a World Champion in WWE. It was the beginning of his success, and he went on to become a three times world champion in WWE.

But how did Mysterio make Kurt Angle angry during this World Championship triple threat match? The Olympic Gold Medalist recently remembered this match while speaking with the “Dos & D” podcast, where he shared praise for Mysterio and also revealed getting livid at him at WrestleMania 22. Here is what he had to say;
“Rey is the coolest kid in the world. He is so humble, and he is so talented. I mean the the kid’s skills — he’s 150 pounds and he’s been a world champion at WWE. It’s just unfathomable. But he’s a special kid there. There he only comes around once every freaking five generations. I’ve never seen a kid that small dominate the world of pro wrestling. And he does an amazing job. You know, the cool thing is he’s such a good kid. You want to help him. It’s like, ‘Rey, I’ll lose to you. I love you, man.’”

“I remember at one point in time we had a main event match at WrestleMania. It was Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, and myself. And Rey pissed me off that night. We had 20 minutes for our match. That’s including entrances.
"So I rush out in 30 seconds, I get mine over with. Randy comes out in 30 seconds, gets it over with. Rey starts comes out with this outfit on, looked like a bird. And he’s dancing around and then he goes up the scaffold and comes back down. And [he] goes down the ramp and goes around the ring three times.
“And I’m like, ‘This *******!’ We ended up only having 12 minutes for a match, because he took up eight minutes for his entrance. I was like, ‘Man!’ And you know what I understood after, because it was his moment. He was going to win the world title that night. So I wish I wouldn’t have got p**** off at him, but I did.” said Kurt Angle.
