John Cena will wrestle his last ever match at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, and this is a huge opportunity for the WWE roster to be the final opponent of the Greatest of all Time. WWE has organised a 16 man tournament to determine the final opponent of The Champ. The tournament is presently going on in the episodes of Smackdown and RAW.
16 people participated in this tournament, only one of these wrestlers will be fortunate enough to feature in the retirement match of Cena at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13. Some of the wrestlers who are not even under contract with WWE right now, like Zack Ryder and Dolph Ziggler, made their returns to take part in this tournament.

John Cena reveals why he wanted a tournament to determine his final opponent
Cena has talked about this ongoing tournament multiple times and explained why he is really happy about it. Recently, he talked about this tournament again and revealed why he wanted this tournament to determine his final opponent for Saturday Night's Main Event. Speaking on ESPN's "First Take" recently, the present WWE Intercontinental Champion said the following;
John Cena will wrestle his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event
"Everyone was like, 'Who does John Cena want to face?' And the way I got my start in WWE was through a random opportunity. I got my first match because the Undertaker was sick. So, I love the theory of opportunity, and I believe in the meritocracy of the WWE. So, I don't want to face anyone. I don't want to handpick anyone.

The event will take place on December 13
"I want people to have a chance to showcase their skills and earn the right for opportunity. So, we're doing this with the Time Is Now tournament, where it's a bunch of the top superstars and some random entries, like, even some against-all-odds opponents, have a chance to see if they can make it, to get a chance to see if they can retire John Cena, which is a really special thing," said Cena.
Gunther is heavily rumoured to win this tournament and feature as the final opponent of Cena. The Ring General remained out of action for several months after he suffered multiple injuries at SummerSlam. He returned on RAW last week and took part in this tournament. Gunther will definitely be an excellent opponent for the retirement of John Cena.
