John Cena made the whole professional wrestling world emotional last Saturday at Saturday Night's Main Event when he tapped out for the first time in 21 years, and it was his last ever professional wrestling match. He had an emotional smile on his face while tapping out. The fans were in utter shock after the bottom line of this match.
Gunther, the man who was responsible for making John Cena tap out, is the most hated professional wrestler right now, and the fans have started to loathe him completely. WWE has decided to capitalise on this hate, and he presently stands as the most hated heel in WWE right now. He even received an extremely negative reaction during RAW last Monday.

Why John Cena tapped out in his final match discussed by Bubba Ray Dudley
But what was the actual reason behind Cena tapping out in his last-ever professional wrestling match? The whole wrestling world has been talking about this strange decision, as WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley also discussed it while speaking on his Busted Open Radio Podcast. Here is what he had to say;
John Cena had his final match last Saturday at Saturday Night's Main Event
“John Cena tapped for you. And for me, and for everybody listening today. For every wrestling fan out there. For everybody in the WWE Universe. He tapped for you. Because John Cena tapping and moving on gives life to so many other things right now in the WWE Universe. It made sense. John Cena tapping was him raising his lightsaber and allowing GUNTHER to strike him down.”
“It opens up so many doorways for GUNTHER and his trajectory and his travels moving on. This was the right thing to do. No other finish would have worked as well as this one. He did it so GUNTHER could become a bigger star, and he tapped so the WWE Universe could continue telling stories into the future.”

Gunther was his last ever opponent
“If a lot of people were talking about the actual tap versus GUNTHER passing out — I’m sorry, versus John Cena passing out — Dave, if John Cena passes out, that does absolutely nothing for GUNTHER. That night was about GUNTHER, and it was about the future. GUNTHER now, for the rest of his career, has the foundation for his heel run, which is: I made Cena tap.”
After the match ended, John Cena had a short farewell, and the whole WWE roster came out to pay homage to the Greatest of All Time. Everyone was in tears during the farewell, and ultimately, Cena left his gear inside the ring and made it clear that he is never coming back into the ring. Cena will always be remembered as the GOAT of professional wrestling.
