He also became a Tag Team Champion with his father soon after his in ring debut, and they became the first ever father and son Tag Team Champions in WWE history. But in 2022, WWE decided to turn him heel for the first time in his wrestling career. He betrayed his father by attacking him at the Clash at the Castle event of 2022, and since then, he has been working as a heel.

After turning heel for the first time, he had been one of the most hated villains in WWE, and the fans booed him so hard that he could not even talk on the mic. He is still working as a heel, and he is doing a fantastic job. Recently, former WWE star Tommy Dreamer explained why Dominik Mysterio should not turn heel anytime soon while speaking on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast. He said the following;

“Dominik Mysterio is exactly where he needs to be, working with the top talent, working with the greatest of all time, and also working as a heel. I know we all want to cheer for Dominik Mysterio. But you need to let him simmer still. We still have to wait for Liv Morgan to come back.
He recently dropped the WWE Intercontinental Championship to John Cena
"Dominik Mysterio was a babyface already, then he turned. Now, if he turns back, how many times can you do that? If you keep Dominik this heel persona, he could also fight his father in Mexico, which would draw big money for that AAA title. There’s more to him being a heel; you have not exhausted it. If a character is stale, is where you want to turn them.”
Dirty Dom might have been one of the most hated heels during his early WWE career, but things started to change for him as he turned his haters into believers with his hard work.
