That is the reason we cannot see the winners carrying their crowns and playing the gimmicks of Kings and Queens during the following weeks of the tournament, like the winners used to do previously.

After he finished his story, he was already an established top star, and he never got a rematch for the World title after dropping it to John Cena at WrestleMania 41. Cody Rhodes had to win King of the Ring to become the No. 1 Contender after finishing his story last year, and never getting a rematch after dropping the title does not make any sense at all. Therefore, it will be remembered one of the worst booking decisions of 2025.
