The present WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H, is famous for a lot of reasons. He is indeed one of the biggest wrestlers of his time, but there is another thing that makes in special, and that was his signature weapon, which is the sledgehammer.

Every time a wrestling fan sees a sledgehammer, he will instantly remember Triple H. But how did this weapon become a signature of The Cerebral Assassin? On May 17, 1999, she had a match with the Undertaker where he used the sledgehammer for the first time.

But he did not use the hammer on the Undertaker. The first person to get hit by this hammer was the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley. While speaking with WWE legend Maven Huffman recently on his YouTube channel, the three times WWE World Champion revealed the following;

Sledgehammer is the trademarked weapon of Triple H

“There’s nothing fake, phony, or gimmicked about a sledgehammer. You have to know how to use it. Yeah, yeah. And I’m glad to say I was the first guy Triple H hit—really. And he laid it in there.” said the Hardcore Legend.

He continued, “But when I realized I had an injury and it would be, you know, best to repair it, I would go to the company like, ‘Hey, can we work through a storyline?’ And then, when my storyline’s done, you know, let’s see if we can’t give somebody credit for this.”

Mick Foley had an amazing feud in early 2000 and it still remains one of the best feuds of both of their careers. Their Hell in a Cell match from No Way Out 2000 still remains one of the best Hell in a Cell matches in wrestling history. This rivalry also remembered as one of the best rivalries of The Attitude Era.
