Vince Russo was one of the biggest names in the wrestling world during the 90s, but he did not earn fame as a wrestler; he did so as a writer. He was the head writer of WWE during the New Gen Era and also the early days of the Attitude Era. He is often considered the real architect behind the ultimate success of the Attitude Era.
But in late 1999, WWE decided to let him go. Instantly after leaving WWE, he got the opportunity to join WCW, where he was appointed as the head writer of the promotion. As much as he had been praised in WWE, he was a much criticized figure in WCW, as he is accused of being one of the biggest reasons behind the downfall of the promotion.

Eric Bischoff claims Vince Russo never understood proper storytelling
Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff worked together in WCW, but Bischoff has never been a big fan of Russo. Recently, the forward box of WCW had been quite pretty girl about the forward WCW writer by saying he never understood storytelling. Speaking on his “83 Weeks” podcast recently, he explained the following;
Vince Russo was a key writer of WWE for 7 long year
“He didn’t understand storytelling. He talks a lot about it, ‘everybody has a story,’ but the story sucked. It’s the same thing that I hear from the internet wrestling community fans that Dave Meltzer, ‘Oh, there’s so many stories in AEW, it’s hard to keep track of them.’ Are you f**king kidding me?

Russo and Eric Bischoff worked together during the dying days of WCW
"Those aren’t stories. They don’t qualify as stories. There’s no structure to them, there’s no journey to them. Just because you come up and you book s**t every single week for the same two people over a course of six weeks, doesn’t mean you’re telling a story. You’re just booking matches." Said Bischoff.
In 2002, Vince Russo was hired by the newly opened professional wrestling promotion TNA Wrestling, where he remained active for 12 long years. He did a good job as a writer in TNA, and it can never be denied that Russo was also a big reason behind the ultimate success of WWE inthe form of the Attitude Era.
