Vince McMahon announced his retirement from the world of professional wrestling back in 2022, but the empire he built still stands really strong. He took charge of WWE back in the early 80s, and he had been the owner of the promotion for more than four decades. He is one of the biggest reasons behind the ultimate success of WWE.

Throughout his lifetime, he hired thousands of wrestlers to work for his promotion, and he also showed the door to a lot of them. One such wrestler had been Enzo Amore, who was one of the top prospects of WWE and was even carrying the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. He was doing an amazing job as the Champion.

Enzo Amore reveals that Vince McMahon never wanted to release him

But WWE was forced to release him after he was charged with s*x**l assault in October 2017. He could never return to WWE in these 8 years because of the charges he had. Enzo Amore recently featured as a guest on “The John Rondi Show,” where he revealed that Vince McMahon never wanted to release him. Here is what he had to say;

Vince McMahon released Enzo Amore in October 2017

“I didn’t even know that this [allegation tweet went viral] was happening. This was going viral. And I’m going through rehearsals, and people start looking at me. Next thing I know, I’m in Vince McMahon’s office, and he tells me, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ and I’m like, ‘Brother, I didn’t f*** know that this s** was going crazy right now.’ So, he tells me you’ve got to go home, and I took the cruiserweight title with me in a Gucci bag.”

The WWE Cruiserweight Championship was vacated after his release

“Ultimately, it led to the next day getting a phone call from, at the time, Mark Carrano, who was the head of HR. He told me that some cooler heads did not prevail, meaning Vince McMahon. From my understanding, it wasn’t Vince that wanted me gone at that moment I was ixnayed, and I can’t even tell you the relief, man.”

Enzo Amore became quite famous among the WWE fans, mostly because of his excellent and entertaining mic skills. McMahon was really impressed with his performance, and he wanted to put him over. But the allegation against him led to his release from the promotion, and these allegations somehow destroyed his professional wrestling career.
