AJ Styles has been active in WWE since 2016, and he has been doing an amazing job ever since. He made his actual WWE debut back in 2001 as a trainee, but it is completely forgettable, and the majority of WWE fans remember his 2016 appearance during the Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble event as his official WWE debut.
Styles was extremely popular among the WWE Universe ever since making his debut in 2016, and soon after making his first appearance, he went on to become a main eventer which he earned by winning the WWE Championship and by defeating John Cena in back to back pay per view matches.
AJ Styles was not considered a top star by Vince McMahon
AJ Styles has worked in WWE as both a main eventer and a solid mid card. He had been successful in everything he did in the promotion. But surprisingly, Vince McMahon never thought he could be a top star. Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler, aka Nic Nemeth, recently revealed the following while speaking on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast;

“When [Styles] was coming into WWE, behind the scenes, this is second-hand, but the boss-boss was like [iffy]. The way he saw AJ was he still had that 80s mentality, if you’re six-[foot]-five, okay, I can go with you, you look like the Warlord, whatever the situation is. AJ is jacked, but he’s not six-five.
AJ Styles is also a WWE Grand Slam Champion
"At the time I had heard that because of him having somewhat of a southern twang to his voice, that basically here is like Heath Slater telling a joke and [Vince] is like, ‘Oh, that’s what AJ Styles is? Okay. I can’t even take him seriously,’ because that’s still that mentality from his brain from the 60s and 80s. Like, ‘Oh, he’s not from New York.’ He doesn’t have this accent that we have.”
Styles is still active in WWE, and he is mostly used as a legend to promote younger stars. He recently had a rivalry with Dominik Mysterio over the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the title that hehad already won previously. Even at the age of 48, he is one of the most athletic starts of WWE.
