He won the WWE World Championship two times upon returning to the promotion in November 2023.
But is he one of the top stars of WWE right now? The majority of the fans would agree to the fact that CM Punk is indeed one of the biggest names in WWE at this moment, but not WWE Hall of Famer and Tag the legend Bubba Ray Dudley, recently explained that Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are two of the biggest names in WWE right now, and Punk is not one of them.
Bubba Ray Dudley claims CM Punk is not the biggest name in WWE
Roman Reigns has been the face of WWE ever since he started playing the character of The Tribal Chief, and he is also one of the biggest attractions of the promotion. Brock Lesnar is also one of the biggest reasons WWE fans still watch the show. Bubba Ray Dudley explained the following on the Busted Open Radio Podcast,
“There was a definitive conversation or definitive stare-down that involved Cody, Roman, and CM Punk, the exact three guys that were in the ring last week on Monday Night Raw that we were talking about. That’s the story that’s going to be moving forward.”
Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are two of the biggest names in WWE, according to him
“Where do these three men fall? It seems like, it seems like to me, and I think I said this last Tuesday after Raw, it seems like they’re gonna go in the direction of Cody and Roman. Roman is still one of the biggest, if not the biggest, star in the WWE. We can have this discussion for the rest of the show. Is Roman the biggest star? Brock the biggest star? Is Cody the biggest star? CM Punk the biggest star?”
“I think if you narrowed it down, Dave, who are the two biggest stars in the WWE? On a global level, who are the two biggest stars? Fair, I’m glad at least you said Brock and you took out your personal love for Cody. Now don’t get me wrong, Cody and Punk are going to get to Roman and Brock’s levels. Whether that’s because they take the next step or by default when Roman and Brock decide to say, brush your hair. But they’re gonna get there.”

CM Punk has won the WWE World Championship two times since returning to the promotion. His first title reign lasted for only five minutes as Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on him, and he dropped the title. He won the title again on November 1 at Saturday Night's Main Event, and since then, he has been holding the title.
