The Great Khali might have been one of the biggest wrestlers to ever step foot in a WWE ring, but he is also considered one of the worst in ring workers ever. Vince McMahon brought him into WWE for the first time in 2006, and it is known to everyone that McMahon always had a love for big guys; therefore, he gave Khali a main event push.

In 2007, The Great Khali went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship, and he had a decent run with the title. He is widely considered one of the worst World Champions in WWE history. But Vince McMahon put him in the main events and made him champion because he was desperate to catch the huge Indian market.

MVP claimed The Great Khali was a terrible in ring worker

A lot of wrestlers who worked with Khali still complain about how awful in ring worker he was. One of the stars who had been in the ring with him was former WWE United States champion MVP, who recently talked about how terrible in ring worker Khali was. But he also said that Khali was a very funny human being in real life. Speaking on his “Marking Out” podcast, he said;

The Great Khali worked in WWE for 8 long years

“I’m pretty sure I got a minor concussion from one of [The Great Khali’s Chops] [laughs]. And then, his other finisher, the two-handed Chokeslam. Oh, brother!” MVP continued, “I say this all the time. I’m harsh on The Great Khali because he is one of the worst people I’ve ever been in the ring with as a wrestler. But behind the scenes, what a funny guy! I actually enjoyed his company. I used to mess with him all the time. Rib him mercilessly.”

Khali retired from in ring action in 2018

Khali made his WWE debut by confronting the Undertaker. He had a big match with the Undertaker at the Judgement Day event of 2006, where he shocked the entire world by squashing the Undertaker. As time passed by, he kept on squashing many other big opponents, and ultimately, he went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship in 2007.

But slowly, The Great Khali turned into a lower mid card, and after a point, WWE did not value him at all. He remained active in WWE until late 2014 before finally getting released from the promotion. In 2021, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Presently, he runs his own independent circuit wrestling promotion in India.
