WWE Survivor Series 2025 had been one of the most star studded events of the year, and it may not have been the best event of the whole year, but it told a lot of stories. It is a huge indication towards the potential main event of WrestleMania 42, Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns III. This had been one of the most awaited matches in recent times. In the previous two encounters, Roman Reigns defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes. This is going to be the first time that the American Nightmare defends the title against Roman Reigns.

But another huge twist is expected in this match; this is also potentially going to be the first time that Cody Rhodes works as a heel, and Roman Reigns challenges for the title as a babyface. This was the biggest rumoured match for WrestleMania 43, but it looks like we don't have to wait until 2027 for this huge match.
But why is this match suddenly getting on the paper for WrestleMania 42? It is quite obvious that Roman Reigns would have challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship on the main event of WrestleMania 42, but it is not happening any more since Rollins is injured and he will not be able to return before the event.
