WWE created this week for ever two night SummerSlam with the first night of the show taking place last night. A total of seven matches were booked for the show, and all of the matches were top notch. Roman Reigns and Jey Uso opened the show with B & B Security, and the show went on with a victory to the babyface side.
The tag team match where Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul took on the team of Randy Orton and Jelly Roll, and we must admit that Jelly Roll is terrible as a wrestler. Thankfully, he was pinned in this match because it was really difficult to digest that someone like him was beating the hell out of professionals like Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.

Huge surprise at the end of SummerSlam
But the biggest surprise was loading at the end of the show after the World Heavyweight Championship match, where Gunther defended his Championship against CM Punk. They thought for half an hour and provided the best match of the night. Ultimately, the match was won by CM Punk, and he won his first Championship after returning to WWE in 2023.
CM Punk and Gunther main evented the night 1 of SummerSlam 2025
That was definitely not the end of the show, as the main attraction of the show just followed the match. After Punk was celebrating his championship win at the end of SummerSlam, Seth Rollins appeared and showed that he did not have the injury anymore, and he is very much ready to continue.

Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract after Punk won the World Heavyweight Championship
He left his crutches behind on the stage and attacked Punk. After a brutal beatdown, he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract successfully. It took him only one Curb Stomp to pin CM Punk and win the World Heavyweight Championship for the second time. We must not forget that he was the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion.
This unexpected cash in did a lot of things, like restoring the prestige of the World Heavyweight Championship and also becoming one of the best segments of the show. Another great thing would be the involvement of Roman Reigns in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship feud in the upcoming days. Triple H is finally doing things right.
