WWE released Sonya Deville last February, as the promotion decided not to extend her contract after it expired. She worked in WWE for nearly a decade and was a regular star of the promotion throughout her main roster tenure. She also worked on multiple storylines.
She started working in WWE after she participated in the Tough Enough competition in 2015, and she got a break to work in the NXT, which is the developmental territory of WWE. After working a couple of years in the NXT, WWE promoted her to the main roster. She teamed up with Mandy Rose and Paige upon joining the main roster.

After the injury of Paige, she started having a storyline with Mandy Rose, which continued until 2020. After her defeat to Rose at Summerslam 2020, she started working on a home screen non wrestling role. She returned to the ring in 2022, and she won her first Championship in the form of the WWE women's Tag Team title along with Chelsea Green.

But she has to vacate the championship after she suffered a torn ACL injury. She returned to action in 2024 only to be released in February 2025. She decided to retire from in ring action in July 2025, but a potential return in the future is not ruled out. Recently, she spoke with CJ Perry "Lana" on her “Identity Crisis” podcast, where she revealed how she felt during her later WWE career;
“I go, okay, well, that’s interesting and ironic, or maybe not at all, that I’ve wanted to be an actress my entire life and now that’s what I’ve honed and worked on for 10 years in WWE in some sort of facet. And now I get to go, just do that. Yeah. And now I’m no longer a mid-carder. Yeah. I don’t have to be a mid-carder. I don’t have to be mediocre in the ring and great on the mic.

"I can just be great. It didn’t feel good to, you know, I worked my a** off in the physicality and, you know, the injury, and then two years as GM not touching my wrestling boots, you know, aside from when I would go off and train on my own.
"But that wasn’t often to be honest and it just wasn’t clicking. And I think it would have I only had four years combined of ring experience. Two years off GM, a year off ACL, and 5 months off kidnapping. So that’s crazy. Combined ring time is not a lot.“ said Sonya Deville.
