The fans are extremely unhappy with the consistent downfall of WWE SmackDown, and their anger was reflected in the viewership of this past week's SmackDown. It had been reported that SmackDown could hit only 933,000 viewership last week. The show recorded a record low number of viewership this week.
SmackDown's viewership is definitely declining, but it is at least managing above 1 million viewership every week. This week, things went too low, and it is definitely a matter of concern. WWE RAW, on the other hand, is managing a better viewership with at least 2 million each and every week.

But what has suddenly happened that the fans are turning their backs on the blue brand of WWE? Triple H is receiving a lot of it for this downfall, and the fans are complaining that the repetitive product of SmackDown, especially the Undisputed WWE Championship picture, as long as Cody Rhodes is holding it, is too predictable.

The video of Cody Rhodes defeating Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night's Main Event received a lot of heat on YouTube, as it has already recorded around 73% of dislikes. Anyone can easily understand that the American Nightmare will not drop the Championship before WrestleMania 41, and Triple H does not have the guts to take the title away from him before any big event.

Drew McIntyre is also being used as a filler in the process to keep the title from Cody Rhodes until WrestleMania 41. Reports also suggest that WWE is planning for Jey Uso to turn heel so that he can continue feuding with him and kill time before WrestleMania 41. This had been the biggest reason behind the decline of SmackDown; extreme predictability, which is slowly killing Smackdown and the rest of WWE.
SmackDown was doing an amazing job in terms of gaining viewership when the Bloodline Saga was going on. But after this storyline, Triple H showed his creative limitations, and the results are pretty clear. It is not possible to start the Bloodline Saga over again, but bringing some unpredictability like Cody Rhodes suddenly dropping the Championship out of no wear can definitely boost ratings. The real question stands, whether Triple H can actually do that.
