Sheamus has been active in WWE for the last two decades, and before making his main roster debut back in 2009, he worked on the developmental territory of the promotion for 3 years. He got an amazing start to his WWE career, as soon after making his main roster debut, he won the WWE Championship.
The first wrestler he defeated to win his first world Championship in WWE was John Cena. He got the opportunity to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship at the TLC event in a Tables match. He shocked the entire world when he defeated Cena and even captured the WWE Championship. It was one of the rarest examples that a wrestler won the world title in WWE in the same year of his debut.

Sheamus recently remembered his iconic WWE Championship win over John Cena at TLC 2009, and he also explained how it impacted his professional wrestling career. Recently, the Celtic Warrior appeared on the RAW Recap podcast and where he talked about this win. Here is what he had to say about it;

"When I look back, and obviously it came so fast, that was the goal for me always was to not just make up the numbers, but to be successful and obviously win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. That's the creme de la creme. I grew up watching this sport, this entertainment, whatever you want to call it.

Apart from the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the Celtic Warrior won everything in WWE
"I didn't miss Saturday Night's Main Event. I didn't miss the Saturday morning shows, and through to the New Generation all the way up to the Attitude Era. I was a massive fan, and that's a dream everybody has who watches WWE." Said Sheamus, who is under contract with WWE since 2006 and today, he is considered a legend of the promotion.
Sheamus won the World Championship title in WWE four times in total, and he had been a top star of the promotion for a long time. Presently, he is treated as a legend of the promotio,n and he is doing an amazing job even at the age of 47. John Cena will always be remembered as one of his biggest rivals of all time.
