Shawn Michaels wrestling career
Shawn Michaels started his professional wrestling career back in 1984, and during his early career, he mostly worked as a tag team wrestler with various stars. He teamed up with Marty Jannetty for the first time while working in the American Wrestling Association AWA and together they were famously known as the Midnight Rockers.
They had been an extremely famous tag team of the time, and they were also brought in to WWE and together started to be known as the Rockers in the promotion. After having amazing Tag Team success during his early career, Shawn Michaels started working solo in the early 90s after he turned on his bad team partner and also turned heel.
Soon, he started teaming up with Diesel, and together, they were known as Two Dudes with Attitude. In 1995, he created history by winning the Royal Rumble match by entering as the 1st entrant of the match. In 1996, he won the Royal Rumble match again, and he won the WWE World Championship for the first time at WrestleMania XII.
It was the official beginning of his main event run; he kept on winning the World Championship and also remained on the main event scene. But he had to retire from in ring action after his defeat at the hands of Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIV due to an injury. He could not return to action for the next 4 years, and he was left out of the whole Attitude Era.
He made a sensational in ring return in 2002 and started working regularly again. He remained active in WWE until 2010, and throughout this time, he only focused on putting over younger talents. In this 8 year time, he only had one world championship run, and that also lasted for a month. She had multiple top rivalries with some of the top stars during this time, with the likes of the Undertaker and his real life best friend, Triple H.
He also had an amazing rivalry with Chris Jericho, which is considered one of the best rivalries of his career. His final feud in his regular WWE career was against the Undertaker, and the duo produced two of the best matches in the history of professional wrestling at WrestleMania 25 and WrestleMania 26. He retired from in ring action after losing to the Undertaker at WrestleMania 26.
He returned to action for one last match at Crown Jewel 2018 to produce the dream match between the DX and the Brothers of Destruction. But ultimately, it turned out to be a disastrous match as all of these four legends were completely out of shape. Michael decided never to return to in ring action after this disaster. He is presently working as the Senior Vice President of WWE, and he also takes care of the creative department of the NXT.
