Seth Rollins had been one of the biggest projects of WWE for 2025, and this projection started at WrestleMania 41, where he defeated Roman Reigns and CM Punk in a triple threat match in the main event of the night one of the show. Paul Heyman also betrayed Roman Reigns and CM Punk to side with him.

He won the Money in the Bank ladder match at the Money in the Bank event, which earned him an opportunity to get a World title shot anytime he wished. He cashed it in at Summerslam, where CM Punk finally won the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Gunther. Seth Rollins cashed in his contract on an exhausted Punk and took the Championship away from him.

Seth Rollins is reported to be out of action for a long time

WWE gave it a storyline angle last week on RAW when he got attacked by his own Tag Team partners, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker, which is now the kayfabe reason behind his injury. Wrestling pundit Dave Meltzer discussed the injury in a recent edition of the "Wrestling Observer Radio" and revealed when Rollins would return to action. He said;

Rollins will potentially return before WrestleMania 42

"He's having surgery. I mean, that's a hundred percent and when they open up they'll find out, like they don't know all the damage in his shoulder and they will find out the damage when they open him up and when they do the surgery, we'll have an idea. I mean, I guess the best way to put it is they hope he'll be okay for WrestleMania.

"There's no way of knowing one way or the other today whether he will be or not, but he's out for months for sure, which we already knew. So, yeah I guess that's the update and then Monday night I'm sure they'll explain what they're going to do with the world title." Said Dave Meltzer regarding the latest injury of Seth Rollins.
