Seth Rollins had been one of the biggest projects of WWE in 2025, and he was having a wonderful year before suffering a deadly shoulder injury. Things started getting wild for him from WrestleMania 41, where he pinned Roman Reigns in a triple threat match also including CM Punk. WWE built a faction around him to make him look even stronger.

He also won the Money in the Bank ladder match and cashed it in at SummerSlam on CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship. He was having a wonderful run as the World Heavyweight Champion, and at Crown Jewel, he faced Cody Rhodes, who is the other world champion of WWE. The duo met each other for the Crown Jewel Championship.

Seth Rollins discusses the injury he suffered at Crown Jewel

Seth Rollins came out victorious in this match, but unfortunately, he suffered a shoulder injury, and reports suggested that he will be out of action for quite a long time. He will also miss out on WrestleMania 42. Seth Rollins recently discussed the injury he suffered at Crown Jewel while speaking on the “Games With Names” podcast, where he stated the following;

“I did what we call a coast-to-coast headbutt. In the landing, I didn’t stick it. I did not stick the landing. I rotated a bit to my left, landing hard on my left elbow, and jolted it up into my shoulder. Felt it go right away. I was like, ‘Oh, we got a lot left to do in this match. How much can I do? Can I do it? Should I go in a different direction with the finish? What should we do?’ There was a lot going on in my head.

"Luckily, I didn’t have to pick him [Cody Rhodes] up for anything, and fortunately, I was able to get through everything. I took his finisher off the top rope, which was pretty scary at that point. I knew I was going to land partially on my shoulder, so I kept it tucked real tight. I don’t know that I did any more damage than the rotator. Two weeks out of surgery now; it’s about six-month recovery. We’ll see how it goes.”

“I landed, and I immediately felt it go. I pinned him, he kicks out, [and] I’m talking to the ref, ‘Oh, that wasn’t smart. That wasn’t good.’ ‘Are you hurt?’ ‘Yeah!’ ‘How bad?’ ‘I’m not sure.’ ‘Do you need to change something?’ ‘Let me think about it… Nah, we’re good!’ At that point, we were 20 minutes deep, so the adrenaline [is going], but I could feel it.

Seth Rollins Crown Jewel Champion

He was reported to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42

"It was hard for me to raise him. If you watch it back, [my arm] is dangling at my side. I can’t throw punches or forearms correctly. It was hard to do what I needed to get done. It was really tender, and it was starting to get worse as the match was going on. Is it stupidity or is it courageousness? I don’t know. Where is the line? My mindset is to finish.” said Seth Rollins.

Seth Rollins would have gone on to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 if he had remained fit. But unfortunately, this dream match is not happening anymore, and it looks like Seth Rollins will also miss out on WrestleMania 42. Roman Reigns, on the other hand, is reportedly challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
