Royal Rumble 2026 will be hosted in Saudi Arabia for the first time, and this is going to be the first Royal Rumble event after the inaugural Royal Rumble of 1988, which was hosted in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This is one of the four big events of WWE, and this is also one of the most anticipated shows of the year. Some fans even enjoy it more than WrestleMania.

One of the biggest attractions of the Royal Rumble event had always been the Royal Rumble match itself and the surprise entrants. Almost every year, WWE comes up with multiple surprise entrances to amaze the fans. Sometimes the surprise entrances are legends, and sometimes they are returning stars. Moreover, this event has always been an amazing experience.

Big news regarding Royal Rumble 2026

But Royal Rumble 2026 is going to be different, according to reports from famous wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, who reported that there will be no surprises in this upcoming Royal Rumble event. He spoke on “Wrestling Observer Live” recently, where he talked about the upcoming event, and he revealed the following;

Royal Rumble 2026 will not have any surprise entrants

“I can’t say this 100%. But this was the impression that I was given yesterday. So, the Royal Rumble is in Saudi, and you know, normally at the Royal Rumble they do surprises and that sort of thing. And again, I’m not saying this is for sure going to happen, but I was kind of given the impression that what they’re working with right now is the idea that there probably aren’t going to be Royal Rumble surprises.”

Royal Rumble 2026 will be hosted in Saudi Arabia

“Because they’re going to Saudi, it’s going to be extremely difficult to hide people on flights, etc. So, they’re doing the Saturday Night’s Main Event and the SmackDown the week prior in Montreal. And the idea is, there’s a good chance if there are any Royal Rumble surprises, they will debut on those shows as surprises — and then we will know going into the Royal Rumble. So, we shall see.”

Roman Reigns is heavily rumoured to be winning the men's Royal Rumble match of 2026, and he would go on to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42. Presently, there is not enough reported provided about the women's Royal Rumble match, but AJ Lee stands as the present odds on favourite.
