The first WWE run of Ronda Rousey lasted from 2018 to 2019, was an amazing journey. She had an extremely strong run, and in the same year of her WWE in ring debut, she won the WWE Women's Championship. She remained undefeated until WrestleMania 35, where she defended the title on the main event of the show. The first time women main event at WrestleMania.

Ultimately, Ronda Rousey was pinned by Becky Lynch in this match, and she went out of action. She remained out of the wrestling world for the next 3 years and made her return as a surprise friend in the women's Royal Rumble match of 2022 at the Royal Rumble event. Her main event push continued as she won the Royal Rumble match and challenged Charlotte Flair for the title at WrestleMania 38.

Booker T discusses the second WWE run of Ronda Rousey

Despite winning the world title again, her second run in WWE is considered a lackluster run where Rousey was also accused of not giving her 100%. Professional wrestling legend and two times WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently criticized the second run of Rousey on his “Hall Of Fame” podcast. Here is what he had to say about it;

“She also said that MMA fans don’t have reverence for their legends. Like, as soon as you lose one fight, you’re not anything, you never were anything, and then it’s on to the next one. That was a really bad take. Yeah, that was a terrible take from Ronda Rousey, because I think UFC guys get treated very well after their careers are over.”

Ronda Rousey's second WWE run lasted for over one and half years

“Some of them, yeah, the fans still love them. I mean, some of those guys have been hit in the head so many times they lose their minds. Look at BJ Penn and what he’s going through — he’s still a legend, and people still love him. He’s on an island on his own, but still. I don’t know what she was talking about with WWE legends.”

“I don’t know if she was watching any of the shows and how the legends were treated when they came back to WWE back in the day. It wasn’t the greatest thing to come back to. Ronda Rousey… I don’t know what her problem is. I don’t know why she’s so mad.”

She is presently not associated with any wrestling promotion

“She did a great thing for the sport — she really did — and she should embrace that. She should embrace what she did, who she is, and who she was. I don’t know why she’s so bitter. The wrestling world let her in, and I think the wrestling world embraced Ronda. And then she just took a big crap on professional wrestling immediately when she left, and sometimes even when she was there. Why? I don’t know.”

Ronda Rousey wrestled her last match in WWE at SummerSlam 2023, where she was beaten by a real life friend, Shayna Baszler, in an MMA rules match. She left WWE after this defeat and made it clear that she never wanted to return to the promotion ever again. It does not look like a lot of WWE fans want her back either.
