R-Truth is indeed one of the most beloved wrestlers in the WWE roster right now, and he is also one of the longest serving members of the roster. He was first under contract in WWE during the Attitude Era for a couple of years, and in 2008, he returned to the promotion for the first time in seven years. We had always been treated as a mid card, and he has also been a WWE United States Champion.

During the early PG Era, WWE officials decided to turn R-Truth heel for the first time upon returning to the promotion, and he had a strong heel run. He had some big victories over some of the top stars, like John Cena. But ultimately, WWE decided to bring him back to his lovable babyface character, and since then, he never changed gimmicks.

R-Truth discusses his retirement plans

R-Truth is mostly famous among WWE fans for his amazing comedy timing, and he is often considered the best comedian in the history of WWE. But much like most of the big names, he is also growing older and by next month he will be 54. Recently, he discussed his upcoming retirement on the “Saturday Night’s Main Event Recap” podcast, where he said the following;

R-Truth has been active in WWE since 2008

“I mean, I’m on deck. We on deck… But oh man, I always like to say — I stole this from The Rock. I let pain and my body be my guide as far as like, when it’s time for me to go. Right now, I still feel good. I haven’t been injured a lot. Because I do moves, I do things that I learned from Booker T years ago. Psychology, I want to have longevity in the business. So I wanna do things that I know I can do, I can get away with. But at the same time it’s entertaining, it’s spectacular. It’s fancy, and the crowd likes it.”

“So now when you get into the different aspects of it of like, you got younger talent coming in. Which is supposed to happen. Everything evolves." He stated, “No, but I thought about it. As you know, I just renewed my deal, man. So it’s like, this could be the last one… we all have to have that time. We all have to get off the ride at some point.”

Earlier this year, WWE released him 15 years after hiring him. But WWE fans could not accept his release, and they went on a complete revolt. "We Want Truth" chants were reaching the sky during the WWE shows. The promotion had no other option but to bring him back. He is still active in WWE, and he plays his comedy persona.
