WWE fans know the name of the famous professional wrestler MVP since the mid Ruthless Aggression Era, as he was one of the top mid cards of the time. He made his WWE main roster debut back in 2006, and he was a former WWE United States champion. He also had a second run in WWE, and in his second run, he is mostly seen doing managerial roles.
MVP may be known as a famous name in the world of professional wrestling today, but he had a dark past before becoming a professional wrestler. His childhood was really difficult, which led him to become a criminal, and he even ended up in jail. But everything worked out well at the end, and he is now a renowned professional wrestler.
How MVP became a professional wrestling enthusiast
But how did he become a professional wrestling fan exactly when he decided to become a professional wrestler? We all know he had a difficult childhood, so it was not possible for him to follow wrestling regularly during his childhood. Recently, he spoke on his “Marking Out” podcast, where he revealed how he became a wrestling fan. He said;

“I didn’t start studying wrestling till I got out. I remember, they had — the I think WWF used to come on like Sundays at noon or something, or it was like the half-hour TV version — and it would cut right into count time. So we had this one officer who was super cool. He would try to let us watch as much as he could and was like, ‘All right, guys. TV’s got to go off now. You got to do count.’ So I was watching the Lex Express and Lex Luger slam Yokozuna on the battleship, you know, and then I hadn’t seen wrestling until I got to work release.”
He is presently working as a manager
“I never paid a penny for wrestling school. They didn’t charge me a dime. They just taught me. But I was there at practice. I was there for the roads, you know, and they saw something. Those vets, you know, they looked around. They were like, ‘Oh, no. This kid got something.’ And I was devoted to it. So then I became a student.”
In his second run in WWE, MVP mostly focused on managing wrestlers rather than wrestling himself. He worked as the manager of The Hurt Business faction, which consisted of Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander. Presently, he is active in AE,W where he is working as the manager for Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley.
