Maxxine Dupri recently shocked the entire world when she defeated Becky range on RAW to win the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship. She had mostly been treated as a jobber throughout her professional wrestling career, and nobody expected she would ever win a major single Championship in a promotion like WWE.
But the early days of Maxxine Dupri were not very easy, as she was portrayed only as a valet of a lower mid card tag team named The Maximum Male Models. Even in her short NXT run, when she played the character of Sofia Cromwell, she was only a valet. If it never looked like she would ever be able to compete in the ring, things started to improve for her when she became a part of the Alpha Academy.
Maxxine Dupri remembers her in ring debut in WWE
She made her main roster debut in an episode of Monday Night RAW against Sarah Logan, who was playing the character of Valhalla back then. Dupri got dominated throughout the match, but at the end, she managed to pin Valhalla with an Electric Chair Drop. Dupri recently remembered this match while speaking on the “Wrestling Republic” podcast. She said;

“My first match in front of an audience was on Monday Night Raw. And like, that was crazy, I actually remember nothing. I completely blacked out, I was so nervous. I almost threw up after because I don’t think I took one single breath for four minutes straight. And like, the match was probably a minute but I’m saying four minutes — like, the time the music hit, I stopped breathing. I was like, ‘I don’t know what’s happening, but I have to survive this.’

“It was crazy. And it’s just been a beautiful thing getting to go on that ride with the WWE Universe. Obviously, there was moments where I wish I was more advanced and could have more control in certain scenarios, but that’s just part of my story.” said Dupri, who earned a hard fought victory in her first match in WWE.
Maxxine Dupri's journey in WWE has been quite impressive as she finally earned the trust of the fans after having a much criticized career. She defeated Becky Lynch to win the WWE Women's IC Championship recently, and the majority of the fans are backing this decision. Hopefully, she improves even more in the future.
