When All Elite Wrestling, AEW, began their journey back in early 2019, it was looking like their direct competition was WWE, and sooner or later, they would surpass the glory of the mighty promotion. They even showed signs of getting passed WWE when they secured the signatures of the top professional wrestlers like CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.

But slowly, the glory of the promotion faded as they managed their top stars poorly. AEW is not as big as it was during its early days anymore, and no way it is a competition in front of WWE. Presently, the developmental Territory of WWE, which is the NXT, is doing better than AEW.

Matt Hardy claims TNA is not competing with AEW

Earlier this year, WWE signed a multi year partnership deal with TNA Wrestling, and the two promotions have been working together ever since. TNA Wrestling is mostly working with NXT, and along with the cross promotion appearances, there are multiple cross promotion Championship wins too.

Matt Hardy is presently under contract with TNA Wrestling

A large number of hands have started comparing the present progress of TNA Wrestling with the current status of AEW. Actual competition to get to the top is between these two promotions. However, present TNA star and wrestling legend Matt Hardy explained that TNA wrestling is not competing with AEW. Speaking on "The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy," the Tag Team legend explained the following;

TNA Wrestling signed a multi year partnership deal with WWE earlier this year

"I think TNA's gonna continue to be successful, but I don't think our goal is to be better than AEW or anywhere else. We're just competing with ourselves. We want to be as good as we can possibly be, and make our brand as strong as we can possibly make it."

After TNA Wrestling started working together with WWE, they have noticed a wide improvement in their ratings and viewership. There was a time when TNA Wrestling was competing directly with WWE, but slowly the magic faded. It is nearly impossible for them to compete with WWE again, but we can definitely earn more success than AEW in the near future.
