LA Knight is one of the biggest examples that in Triple H's era of WWE, wrestlers can get big pushes if they can do good and they get over with the fans, unlike Vince McMahon's latter days, when it was all about what he wanted and not what the fans wanted, which had been a big complain about the WWE fans for a long time.
When Knight started his journey in WWE, he was seen mostly as a lower mid card and he was receiving a lower mid card treatment. Vince McMahon did not even see him as a wrestler and started using him as a manager. But after Triple H noticed that he was getting really over with the fanc he gave him a strong upper mid card push.

WWE Hall of Famer criticized LA Knight's in ring work
But he is often criticized for his average in ring skills, and a lot of fans still believe that he gets the push just because of his amazing mic skills. WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley recently criticized Knight's in ring work while speaking on a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast. Here is what he had to say about it;
Knight is one of the most over stars of WWE right now
“When it comes to LA Knight, I do not believe the issue is on the microphone. I believe that the higher ups at the WWE believe that the issue with LA Knight is when the bell rings.” he continued, “I think that they really want to do something with him. He’s so over with the people, so if he’s that over, we need to try to give him more opportunities? I think what happens is once the bell rings, he doesn’t resonate with the audience, other than his catchphrases.”

Knight is a former two times WWE United States Champion
“I promise, you people, I am not saying this as a detriment or knocking LA Knight, it’s constructive criticism as to why the guy might not be going further. The emotional connection to the work is not there. When the bell rings, LA Knight loses the people, he has to find a way to become one with them.”
Knight still receives an upper mid card treatment as he gets to challenge for the championships regularly. He has challenged for the World Championship multiple times, and he has also been a two times WWE United States Champion. We can expect him to see himself as an upper mid card in the upcoming days as well.
