KofiMania is still remembered as one of the most fun time periods in WWE history. It was back in 2018 when WWE decided to give the WWE title to one of their longest serving members of the roster, Kofi Kingston. He earned the right to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
The fans were extremely happy with Kofi Kingston defeating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 and winning the WWE Championship. He had an amazing 6-month Championship reign, and this time period is famously known as KofiMania in WWE history.

Even The Viper, Randy Orton, decided to provide a strong push for Kofi, which cemented him as a worthy champion. Most importantly, the fans enjoyed with Championship run. Overall, KofiMania was an amazing time period with a terrible finish.

After exactly 6 months of his title reign, he defended his Championship against Brock Lesnar in an episode of SmackDown. Lesnar not only defeated him to take the title away from him, but he also completely buried him by defeating him in 6 seconds. Wrestling Legend MVP recently remembered this match while speaking in and recent episode of the Markin’ Out Podcast. He said;

“I don’t know. It would seem that, to me, I thought that was just stupid killing Kofi off,” MVP said. “I don’t know, I could be completely wrong, I feel there was some measure of disingenuousness with that. After this burial, Kingston could never regain his spot in the main event status, which completely made his Championship reign irrelevant. Vince McMahon received a lot of backlash for burying Kingston, but as it is known to all, Vince never cared about his critics and did what he felt was right.
