Kevin Owens was scheduled to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, and it could have been one of the biggest matches of his career. The match followed an excellent storyline, which could have had its final outcome at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

But unfortunately, a terrible neck injury of Owens came back just before the event, and he was strictly told by his doctor not to continue his wrestling career as long as he is not totally fit and fine. He had to announce this heartbreaking news in front of the live crowd, and when he was leaving the arena, he got the gesture of respect from his on screen Rival Randy Orton.

Kevin Owens was scheduled to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41

“It's a very slow process. I still haven’t had the surgery. There’s a lot of things to consider before the surgery. We’re kind of waiting to see how things progress naturally. There’s no doubt I need surgery, but before we do the surgery, we just have to see how much it can… Not recover, because it won’t recover, but slightly improve without surgery.

Neck injuries have always been fatal to professional wrestlers. It has killed many careers. One of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling, Stone Cold Steve Austin, had to retire because of a neck injury. Top wrestlers like Daniel Bryan and Edge also had to retire due to neck injuries. Thankfully, these two wrestlers were able to come back. We seriously hope Kevin Owens also makes his return to action soon.
