Kevin Owens was sidelined by a career threatening neck injury just before WrestleMania 41. He was having an amazing time before this injury. He had a huge rivalry with Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship just before the injury. This multi match feud was really exciting.

But this neck injury was growing inside slowly, and ultimately, it became so dangerous that he had to step out of the ring. After his rivalry with Cody Rhodes ended, he started a new rivalry with Randy Orton, which was heading towards WrestleMania 41. It was also announced that Kevin Owens and Randy Orton would face each other at WrestleMania 41.

Update on Kevin Owens' injury

But just before the event, his injury became a thing, and he had to step out of the ring. Unfortunately, this mega match did not happen either. Nothing had been confirmed on how long this injury would take before Owens finally spoke recently on a video posted by Green Mountain Wrestling on Twitter. He said the following;

Kevin Owens is presently out with a neck injury

“Hello everyone, my name is Kevin Steen. You might know me from some wrestling shows I’ve been on or matches I’ve had. But tonight isn’t about me. Tonight is about crowning the very first champion in Green Mountain Wrestling history, which makes this a huge show.”

“I wish I could be there in person, because I’ve been keeping up with Green Mountain Wrestling for a while now, and watching it grow has been really exciting. If I were there tonight, I’d be able to award the title to the first champion myself." He said; “And if you look closely at the title belt, you might notice a certain move on one of the side plates that has something to do with me. It would have been an honor to do that, but I’m not there; I’m at home.”

He was scheduled to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41

“So I won’t be able to watch the show live, but I’ll read the results online. To everyone watching live tonight, enjoy the show. Good luck to everyone competing for that title. Give it your all, and I’m very excited to see who comes out as champion.”

Neck injuries are the fiercest injuries in the world of professional wrestling, as multiple top stars have had to stop wrestling because of such injuries. Stone Cold Steve Austin's career ended because of a neck injury, and he could not return to action for two decades. Edge also faced a similar injury, which kept him out of action for a decade. We hope Kevin Owens gets back to action soon.
