Karrion Kross is one of the latest names that have been released from WWE. Presently, the creative direction of the promotion looks quite clueless. Kross was brought back to WWE in 2022, and he was instantly created with a big feud with Drew McIntyre, which made the fans believe that WWE had big plans for him.
But instantly after the feud ended, things started going downhill for Karrion Kross. He struggled to get regular booking, and whenever he got some matches, he mostly had to work. At one point to WWE made a faction around him, but it did not work for him very well either. At one point, it was understood that WWE had absolutely no plans for him.

Karrion Kross discusses potentially returning to WWE in the future
Finally, in August 2025, Karrion Kross' WWE contract came to an end, and the promotion decided not to extend it, so he was let go by the promotion when his contract ended. He returned to the independent circuit after he was released from the promotion. Speaking on the “INSIGHT” podcast of Chris Van Vliet, he expressed his desire to return to WWE in the future;
Karrion Kross had been released from WWE last August
“I’ll speak for myself. You could answer this separately, if you like. I don’t know. I don’t know what that door looks like, or what’s even on the other side of it. I’m still completely perturbed by the conversation that we had, it was so bizarre and strange and shocking.” he continued, “We’d rather make less money and feel like we’re earning our money than to just show up somewhere and collect a handout and have no room for growth. I’m not going to do that. That’s just not how I’m wired.”

Kross spent 3 years in WWE before getting released
“I’m not going to be one of those people living at the bar in the hotel. I saw that on the Indies coming up before I even had anything to do with WWE. Hyper successful people. I mean, for lack of better way to explain it, Self-Made Millionaires, they’re miserable. Because, more than likely, they accepted something that they weren’t happy with, close the distance financially, on whatever it is they were looking to get or wherever they were looking to land. No, there’s no way.”
Before getting released from the promotion, Karrion Kross became extremely over with the fans. He mostly started to earn fame during the WrestleMania season, and everybody expected WWE to finally use him properly. But surprisingly, WWE decided not to keep him despite getting over with the fans. We hope he returns to the promotion in the future.
