Karrion Kross' release from WWE is still considered one of the biggest surprises provided by WWE this year so far. He was one of the most over wrestlers at the time of his release, but WWE had no intentions of capitalizing on his fame, and ultimately, by August 10, the former two times NXT champion was shown the door.

Kross returned to WWE in 2022 after remaining out of the promotion for a year. Previously, he was released by WWE when Vince McMahon was in charge in 2021. During that time, WWE was going through a mass release due to covid-19 pandemic. Kross was one of the victims, and after getting released in 2021, he spent a year on the independent circuit.

Karrion Kross wonders whether the door in WWE will ever open for him

During his second run in WWE, Karrion Kross could spend 3 years in the promotion, but could not do anything special. Presently, he is working on the independent circuit, and rumors have it that AEW wants to sign him. Recently, he appeared on "Insight With Chris Van Vliet" where he spoke about whether he has a wish to return to WWE. He said the following;

Karrion Kross had been released by WWE in August 2022

"I mean, I'll speak for myself. I don't know," he said. "I don't know what that door looks like or what's even on the other side of it. I'm still completely perturbed by the conversation that we had. It was so bizarre and strange and shocking." Said Kross, who had been a two times NXT champion during his first run with WWE.

Kross' wife Scarlett said; "It's the kind of stuff I've read about that a lot of entertainment industries do to put the pressure on last minute so you don't have a lot of time to think and you panic," she said. "If you know your value, and the thing is, we know what it feels like to not make money on the indies. We've learned our value. We've struggled. It doesn't scare us, if that makes sense, doesn't scare us being independent."

WWE fans had a lot of expectations from the second run of Karrion Kross. He was brought back by Triple H, and he was also one of the favorites of the Cerebral Assassin, but surprisingly, he was hardly utilized by the promotion. When he was released, he was one of the most overstars of the promotion. But they completely failed to utilize his fame. Hopefully, he gets to return to the promotion soon.
