Karrion Kross was released from WWE last month after his contract expired, as the promotion decided not to extend his contract. He signed a three year professional contract with WWE back in 2022, and he did not do anything special in these three years other than having some random matches and rivalries.

But during the WrestleMania season earlier this year, Karrion Kross became extremely famous among the WWE fans. He even had a high voltage feud with Sami Zayn during the dying days of his contract. He had a series of matches with the present WWE United States champion, including a big match at SummerSlam.

Karrion Kross claims WWE made a mistake by releasing him

After he was shown the door by WWE officials, WWE fans in attendance kept on chanting "We Want Kross" and at one point it even looked like it was all work. But later it was understood that the release was legit. Kross recently appeared on the “Wrestling Life” podcast, where he said WWE was wrong to release him. He said;

WWE released Kross last month after his contract expired

“It’s been really wonderful. It’s one thing when you’re given a creative direction and it lands with the audience and they’re happy with it. That feels very good. It’s a mission accomplished. When the audience is choosing you, when the equation was not formulated for you to be chosen, they had other people in mind, and the audience is saying, ‘no, actually, this is our guy. This guy’s great. We’re picking him’.

Karrion Kross is presently active on the independent circuit

"That’s pretty cool. I mean, I don’t quite think that like that has ever happened to me before. Not that I could think of. So it’s very meaningful.” said Karrion Kross, who joined the independent circuit after leaving WWE last month and he has already started appearing on GCW, the indie promotion that made Matt Cardona famous.

Before getting rehired in 2022, Kross had a run in the NXT and also a short run in the main roster until 2021. He was quite successful in the NXT as he had been a two times NXT Champion. But soon after making his main roster debut, he was released from WWE. Triple H brought him back in 2022, but could not utilise him at all.
