With time passing by, the heartbreaking retirement of John Cena is slowly edging near. The stage has already been set, it is going to be Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, and the opponent is also ready, it is going to be the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, The Ring General Gunther. This is definitely going to be one of the most emotional events in WWE history.

Lash Legend talks about how it felt to see John Cena in the NXT locker room
It is said by multiple NXT stars that Cena made appearances in the NXT locker room multiple times, and it was been huge boost for each and every NXT star. One of the latest NXT call ups, Lash Legend, recently talked about the importance of Cena visiting the NXT locker room and how he influenced the stars. Speaking with "Never Seen 17's" recently, she explained the following;
John Cena will wrestle his last ever wrestling match at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event
"This last one, he did give a nice long talk that it was just like you're getting so many gems. It's like you want to have a pen and paper. You want to be all ears because it's just like wow, this is really helpful and it's just good. We have amazing coaches. We have amazing staff. We have Shawn Michaels ... but it's always good to get a different perspective too on somebody like the greatest of all time, John Cena.
Gunther is going to be his final opponent
"Heck yeah, I want to listen to what he has to say. And the fact that he even is humble enough to want to do that and want to help us out and want to pay it forward. Like that is amazing. And I think a lot of people know that, no, we can't take this for granted." Said Lash Legend, who has recently been called up to the main roster.
John Cena went through a retirement work throughout 2025, and he has done a lot of things this year. Not every fan is totally satisfied with his retirement tour, but it is definitely going to be a memorable year. He won he is 17th World Championship, which is the highest number of world title wins in WWE history, and he also became a WWE Grand Slam champion. John Cena will definitely be remembered as one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling.
