The world of professional wrestling is still in shock following the retirement of John Cena, who has one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling. Cena announced last year that he would retire by the end of 2025, and he kept his word. He worked in his last ever professional wrestling match on December 13.
John Cena started his retirement tour at the Netflix RAW premiere, and he has done a lot of things throughout this retirement tour. He created history by winning the 17th World Championship, which is more than anyone in WWE. He had his first ever heel run in over 21 years, and he also became a Grand Slam Champion for the first time in his illustrious professional wrestling career.

Logan Paul thinks WWE can thrive after the retirement of John Cena
After Cena's retirement, a large number of fans believe that this is going to be a really difficult time for WWE to survive without the Greatest of All Time. But former WWE United States champion Logan Paul recently explained why it is time for the promotion to thrive as Cena is now gone. Speaking on his YouTube vlog, he said the following;
John Cena had a retirement tour throughout 2025
“As John Cena would say, ‘You got to earn your sunset,’ which he definitely did not in his last match. I watched his last match, I watched John Cena’s last match last night. He was wrestling GUNTHER, and he tapped out to the sleeper hold. Cena’s whole thing is, ‘Never Give Up.’ That’s not right. And he gave up.

He worked in his farewell match on December 13
"With a guy like John gone, this company can really thrive, with me in charge and Vision leading the way. All of yesterday’s match was actually like a microcosm of what the future may actually look like. The talent from NXT, the Oba Femis, the Sol Rucas, Je’Von Evans, me… now it’s going to be really exciting.” said the former World Champion.
Cena may have stopped working in the ring, but he has recently signed a 5 year contract with WWE, and he will play an ambassador role for the promotion. So the fans can expect him to appear often on various non wrestling roles. But one thing everyone can understand is that the wrestling world will never be the same after Cena's retirement.
