It had been made official recently that John Cena will face Brock Lesnar at the upcoming WWE premium live event, which is Wrestlepalooza. This event was first introduced by ECW back in 1995, and after a long time, WWE is bringing back an ECW pay per view in the form of a premium live event.
Brock Lesnar remained out of action for a couple of years after his defeat at the hands of Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. He had to deal with legal actions, and finally, he made his return to deliver a huge rivalry with Cena. At SummerSlam 2025, Cena defended the WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes and lost the title.

After he was beaten by Rhodes, he was attacked by returning Brock Lesnar. But we did not get to hear anything from the Beast Incarnate since last week's SmackDown, which recorded the final appearance of Cena in the blue brand. While Cena was having a match with Sami Zayn, Lesnar appeared again and beat down Cena.

However, it has never been clear why Lesnar decided to attack Cena. Internally, it was reported that The Champ wanted to have a final rivalry with Lesnar before his retirement. Recently, it had been made official that Cena will go on to challenge Lesnar at the upcoming WWE premium live event Wrestlepalooza.

Previously, it was rumoured that Cena and Lesnar would have this much awaited match at the upcoming WWE premium live event, Crown Jewel, which is scheduled in Australia. But with this match happening at Wrestlepalooza,the chances of this dream match taking place in Australia become a little low.
However, recent reports suggest that Brock Lesnar and John Cena will have a remix at Crown Jewel with potentially having some added stipulation. However, nothing has been confirmed officially yet. But now it looks pretty much clear that Lesnar is not going to be the final opponent of Cena's career.
