The match card for the upcoming WWE premium live event, Crown Jewel, features quotes from the biggest stars of the promotion who are in action in this event, which includes John Cena and AJ Styles. Recently, Cena issued a challenge for Styles on social media, and the former two times world champion accepted it.
This is not the first time John Cena and AJ Styles have been in action. They faced each other three times before in 2016 and 2017. In two of those three occasions, Styles was victorious, and Cena won to final match that was booked at Royal Rumble 2017. The duo never met each other one on one after that.

Bubba Ray Dudley criticized the upcoming John Cena vs AJ Styles match
But WWE Hall of Famer and Tag Team Legend Bubba Ray Dudley is not happy with the way this match has been booked. Recently, he talked about this match while speaking on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, where we explained why he is not interested in this match at all. Here is what he had to say;
John Cena and AJ Styles will go one on one at the upcoming Crown Jewel event
“Not really [matters who wins the match]. I don’t have a reason to be into this match other than I like John Cena and I like AJ Styles, and I think they’ll have an entertaining wrestling match. Other than that, I don’t know why I should care about the match. ‘Care’ — when I say ‘care,’ that goes to story and there is no story.

The duo faced each other multiple times before
"This is a match that was made on social media. AJ doesn’t hate Cena. Cena doesn’t hate AJ. Nobody said something bad about the other. Nobody looked at each other’s wife. Nobody said anything about kids. There’s no stakes. There’s no nothing. It’s just a wrestling match. It’s just about movement for the sake of movement.” said the WWE Hall of Famer.
AJ Styles already smelled this criticism and said that their match did not require a story. But it has really been a matter of talking point since John Cena's retirement tour, after dropping the WWE Championship had been quite clueless. It clearly shows that he has some appearances left, and WWE just has to book the appearances anyhow they can. No doubt, it had been a really poor piece of booking.
