John Cena is edging towards his final match, which is scheduled at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13. It is going to be one of the most emotional nights for the professional wrestling fans who grew up admiring him. WWE has organised a tournament to determine its final opponent.
Last year, during the Money in the Bank event, John Cena made a surprise appearance and announced that he would retire by the end of 2025. Throughout the year, he went on a retirement tour, and it had been one of the best years of his wrestling career. He achieved a lot of success this year and even created multiple records.

John Cena is not retiring on his own terms
But nothing lasts forever in this world; the illustrious professional wrestling career of John Cena is also coming to an end. But is he actually retiring on his own terms? Recently, the former 17 times WWE World Champion appeared on the RAW Recap Podcast, where he revealed the following about his retirement;
“So I don’t want to — that’s a perspective. I’m not going out on my own terms. If I could do this in infinity, I would do it. This is where I feel the most fluent, this is where I feel safe, this is where I feel at home. Yes, the audience has let me into their living room every week for 23 years. But they’ve also let me into their lives.

"And by going across the world and doing all these conventions and meeting all these fans one fan at a time. Hearing the stories of how me playing dress up and living my imagination. Taking opportunities and trying to make it the best I can has affected their life. I want to do this for infinity.”
“But I can’t. So I wanna make it specific and I’m not going out on my own terms. I made a promise to the fan base when I started, that when I gotta step slower I gotta walk away. And the sad thing is, us as fans see that and be like, ‘But you got so much left.’

He will wrestle his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event
"Yeah, I could probably squeeze out more matches, but at what cost? I do harm to myself, I do harm to the product. And you as a fan who’s who’s allowed me the opportunity for over two decades to spend time with you, you leave feeling bad or sad. No, I want everyone to be happy.”
John Cena became a Grand Slam champion recently in an episode of RAW when he defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He will defend the title against Dominik Mysterio at the upcoming Survivor Series event, and this is going to be his final major big event match since he is going to wrestle his last match at Saturday Night's Main Event.
