John Cena wrestled his last ever professional wrestling match at the Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13. His final opponent was the two times WWE World Champion Gunther, who made Cena submit in this match for the first time in over 21 long years. The majority of the wrestling fan or not happy with the fact that Cena lost his final match.
John Cena had been having a retirement tour, which he started on the Netflix RAW premiere earlier this year. He had an excellent career so far, as he achieved everything that was left from his wrestling career. He won the WWE World Championship for the 17th time, he became a Grand Slam champion, and he also had his first heel run in over 21 years.

Bubba Ray Dudley discussed the potential return of John Cena
We saw the last match of Cena on December 13, and it is quite unfortunate that it is going to be his last ever professional wrestling match. However, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley recently explained how WWE should book the return of John Cena while speaking on The Busted Open Radio Podcast. He said the following;
John Cena worked in his last ever wrestling match on December 13
“One day, Cody Rhodes is going to be face-to-face with GUNTHER. Can we agree with that? I would think so, yes. Well, I don’t know when. Obviously, there’s the Brock stuff. Eventually, Cody Rhodes is gonna come before GUNTHER. And by the time we get there, GUNTHER will have been built up to a level where he will be the immovable force—the object, blah, blah, blah. He’s going to be that guy.”

Dudley thinks Cena will return to help Cody Rhodes against Gunther
“And Cody is going to have doubt. Cody is going to have a problem with GUNTHER. Cody is gonna be down in the dumps. And Cody is gonna forget where he came from. Cody is going to have issues. One day, like a Force ghost popping up, John Cena will return at the right moment to remind Cody who he is. That’s what I— in my world— that’s what I see happening.”
Cena has recently signed a 5 year contract with WWE, but it is an ambassador contract, so he will only be seen working on non wrestling roles. He may not work in the ring, but we can definitely expect him to see getting involved in physical fights in non wrestling roles. We wish a happy retirement to the Greatest of All Time.
