John Cena is closing in on his retirement and he will wrestle his final match at the upcoming Saturday at Saturday Night's Main Event. The former two times World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is his final opponent. This is definitely going to be one of the most emotional nights for every professional wrestling fan.
John Cena had been active in the world of professional wrestling since 1999, and he made his WWE main roster debut in 2002. He was the face of WWE for a long time and was the biggest star of both the Ruthless Aggression Era and the PG Era of WWE. He is a 17 times WWE World Champion, which is more than anyone in the history of this promotion.

John Cena reveals what fans should expect from Saturday Night's Main Event
He started his retirement tour on the Netflix RAW premiere in January, and he had an excellent year, which was the year of his retirement. He has won his final World Championship, he turned heel for the first time in over 21 years, and he also became a WWE Grand Slam champion by winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship for the first time.
Next Saturday at the Saturday Night's Main Event, he will work in his last ever professional wrestling match against Gunther, who won a 16 man tournament to earn the right to challenge John Cena in his last ever match. Cena recently spoke to Bill Simmons on his podcast, where he revealed what fans should expect from Saturday Night's Main Event. He said;
John Cena will wrestle his final match this Saturday
“Why don’t we take Saturday Night’s Main Event — everyone knows this is John Cena’s last match — the video packages you want to trickle in there throughout the night, no problem. Then we go to the match, have the match.
"That’s the night. But beforehand, on a night I know people are going to be tuning in — we’re going to have a sold-out crowd, it’s definitely going to be a ticket you want to have in your hand — in that last piece of relevant energy that I can get an audience member to tune into, show the future of your business.”

Gunther will be his last ever opponent
“Have top-named WWE superstars — CM Punk, Charlotte Flair, who you put together how you want — have them have non-canon exhibition matches with the future of the business. Bring kids up from NXT, get them in a building with real noise, with real energy, let them get under the bright lights. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll go, I want to be here.”
“You know what I’m saying? And they get to wrestle people with experience and wisdom, in non-canon exhibition matches where nothing’s on the line. It’s just a chance to see, it’s a chance to hear the music of your favorite superstars against someone you have no idea.” said The Greatest of All Time.
