As the retirement of John Cena is closing in, things are getting really difficult for the fans, as one of the best to step inside the ring will not be seen in the ring ever again. For the last 25 years, he has done wonders, and he has created back to back histories. He had been the face of WWE for a long time period and it will not be exaggerated if said he carried the whole promotion on his back for a long time.

John Cena started his retirement tour on the first episode of RAW of 2025, which was also the Netflix RAW Premiere. Throughout this year, he has done almost everything. He turned heel for the first time in over 21 years, he won the record breaking 17th World Championship, which is more than anyone in WWE, he main evented WrestleMania 41, and he also became a Grand Slam Champion.

He finally became a WWE Grand Slam Champion

“Thank you Boston. It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love. Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are. The smile on my face and awe in my eyes in this small clip is an honest show of grateful disbelief & appreciation for all you’ve ever invested in me. Last night meant more than I can ever express. Thank you Boston.”

John Cena will wrestle his final match at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13. WWE has organised a 16 man tournament to determine its final opponent. He is also scheduled to have a match at the upcoming Survivor Series event, where we can expect him to defend his title.
